TRAINEE MANAGER

Full Time – 12 month program

Who you are:

You’re an enthusiastic, energetic individual who is looking for an opportunity.  You believe you are ready to take on a leadership role or have been progressing towards a career in leadership in Hospitality.  You are looking for a challenge, are eager to learn and are wanting a long term career in hospitality and more specifically, in management.  You have the confidence and skill to communicate effectively with both staff and customers, you have an eye for detail and a natural talent for coaching and mentoring others.  You also can think on your feet to address potential first aid or emergency type situations.  You are available to work days, nights and weekends.

About the Role:

To take on responsibilities in our Clubs’ operations and to become the leaders of tomorrow as opportunities arise with the growth of the Club. You will be learning from and assisting the Duty Managers in the day to day operation of the Club.  You will be trained in all operational areas of the Club as well as administrative tasks including rostering, learning operating systems and report writing.  You will also receive training and be given opportunities to practice in dispute resolution, how to effectively handle emergency situations, how to be an effective coach and mentor to staff, performance management of staff and much more.  The Club will invest in you with a unique training program which will be tailored around your experience and abilities to best equip you for leadership.

FUNCTIONS & EVENTS COORDINATOR

Full Time

Passion and commitment are the driving forces behind Moama Bowling Club’s success.  A stunning multi-purpose dining, conference, entertainment and sporting venue, we are acknowledged along the Murray River as a leader in our industry.  We are now looking for a dynamic individual to take on the role of Functions and Events Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing & hands on running of all functions & events
  • Booking & coordinating events
  • Growing the business through social media, advertising and marketing
  • Maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Staff training & supervision

Moama Bowling Club has a number of areas to operate functions at various levels. The Functions and Events Coordinator will be required to market and promote all functions and events and be able to offer the best area for each enquiry type. The available areas include:

  • The Venue – seating capacity of 300
  • The Greens – two outdoor spaces with combined seating capacity of 120
  • The Bistro Terrace – seating capacity of 40
  • The Training and Meeting room – seating capacity of 20
  • The Boardroom – seating capacity of 12
  • Occasional Club sponsored off site events

Essential Skills Required:

  • Sound knowledge & experience in functions & events including weddings, conferences, banquet and meeting style functions
  • Ability to instruct, direct, train & supervise staff
  • Strong customer focus
  • Problem solving & analytical skills
  • Excellent presentation & communication skills
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (NSW)

This role is for an experienced individual focusing on event coordination, marketing and advertising to drive bookings for all areas. If you have proven experience of at least 5 years, this could be the role for you!  Must be have the ability to work days, nights and weekends.

DUTY MANAGER

Full Time

Passion and commitment are the driving forces behind Moama Bowling Club’s success.  A stunning multi-purpose dining, conference, entertainment and sporting venue, we are acknowledged along the Murray River as a leader in our industry.  We are now looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to join our Duty Manager team.

About the Role:

To oversee the day to day operation of the Club including but not limited to ensuring regulations for entry into The Club are met and ensuring that the highest standards of Customer Service are provided to all guests at all times.  As Duty Manager you will be the first point of contact for staff and will be responsible for daily maintenance of the roster and allocation of duties to ensure each shift runs smoothly and efficiently. Your sound leadership skills coupled with your professional presentation and excellent communication skills will see you as a highly valued member of our management team. This role is ideally suited to a natural leader who has a keen eye for detail and the ability to drive service, safety and staff management at every level.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Leadership skills to ensure all Team Members follow the correct procedures to guarantee a safe, positive and memorable experience for guests at all times
  • Sound knowledge and experience in Hospitality
  • Coaching and mentoring skills to train and develop team members
  • Dispute resolution techniques to resolve staff and customer grievances in a timely and efficient manner ensuring a positive business outcome is achieved
  • Performance Management training and experience
  • Ability to think on your feet and effectively respond to and participate in emergency situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and time management skills
  • A friendly and outgoing personality and impeccable presentation
  • Drive to promote motivation and a positive workplace culture amongst all team members
  • NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate required
  • NSW Responsible Conduct of Gaming certificate required
  • Current First Aid accreditation

This is a key role in our business and it’s important that you are capable of working efficiently in a busy work environment.  The roster for this position is on a 4 weekly rotation and includes both day and night shifts and applicants must be available across the 7 day week.  As well as a generous salary, this position will enjoy at least 9 days off in every 4 weekly rotation, the provision of meals whilst on shift and have access to Health and Wellbeing programs.
