Sponsorship and Support
Moama Bowling Club is a passionate supporter of community organisations driving positive change in the areas of social inclusion, youth engagement, disability support, health, sport, arts and culture.
This space provides us the opportunity to celebrate our unique stories and communities – to showcase not only the contribution we as a club are making in our patch, but also the critical role so many community groups play in improving our way of life here at Echuca Moama.
The extraordinary people behind these clubs and groups are the binding fabric that makes this region such an amazing place to live, and we are incredibly proud of their selfless efforts in improving social inclusion, community engagement, youth support, grass roots sport and healthy living opportunities for all.
Moama Bowling Club shares a common bond with these groups – and that is that community is at our very heart.
We feel enormously privileged to work closely with them to make our home the very best place it can be for everyone.
Clubs that earn more than $1 million annually in gaming machine revenue provide funding for community projects and services, and in turn receive dollar-for-dollar gaming tax deductions. In 2009, clubs reported ClubGRANTS expenditure of more than $63 million across New South Wales. The scheme was introduced in 1998 by the NSW Government and allows clubs to claim a tax deduction of up to 1.5% on gaming machine revenue over $1 million for monies spent on community support.
Introducing the legislation to establish the scheme, the then Minister for Gaming and Racing, the Hon Richard Face MP, stated: “This specifically recognises the valuable role played by registered clubs in their local communities and provides the government with a more effective method of rewarding clubs for the support they provide to these communities.”
