Safeguarding the natural heritage
of Echuca Moama
We’re taking action now to protect the natural beauty of the land we call home, investing in initiatives to ensure a more sustainable future.
As a leader in the local community, we recognise our duty to set the standard for sustainability in Echuca Moama. That’s why we’re making changes that will not only make our club a more sustainable venue, but shift the way our entire community thinks about the environment, too.
Every action we take adds up – from big changes, like installing solar panels, to small ones, like switching out our light bulbs – and we’re making them all.
Sustainability
audits
We regularly analyse our energy and resource consumption to find areas for improvement.
Improving
energy efficiency
We’ve upgraded to energy efficient lighting, appliances, and HVAC systems to reduce energy consumption.
Adopting
renewable energy
We’ve installed a solar microgrid system with 1,529 solar panels, which generates almost a quarter of our power.
Reducing waste and
promoting recycling
We’re providing recycling facilities for both our team and guests to reduce landfill waste.
Conserving water
We’ve designed our landscaping to conserve water and installed water-efficient fixtures.
Sourcing sustainable
products
We’re committed to supporting local suppliers with a focus on sustainability.
Our work is already making a difference: 23.7% of our power is now generated from our solar panels, which will reduce greenhouse emissions by 15,418.05 metric tonnes over the club’s lifetime – the equivalent of planting 11,012 trees, which would require seven times as much land as the club’s current footprint. And we’re just getting started.
